Geoduck aquaculture nets are under the sea for seven years and in that time they become populated by all kinds of kelp and seaweed.  They are a whole underwater reef in themselves that must be removed by divers before geoduck's can be harvested.

Ocean Legacy recycles aquaculture nets however when these nets are heavily bio fouled with kelp and seaweed they clog up the equipment, as a result many of these nets go to the landfill and rot releasing methane and co2 emissions.  

 Fermenting these nets with biochar, local sea salt and yogurt harvests the valuable nutrients while cleaning these nets so they can be recycled.  

 Kelp and Seaweed contain natural growth hormones, such as cytokinins and auxins. These hormones stimulate robust root development, enhance plant vigor, and improve resistance to stress.
